The lose a stone challenge :D

I want to lose a stone. I'm not really looking for long term weight loss goal...I hope to shift it within a few weeks (Around 1.5-2 kg a week?)

I'm 170 cm tall at the moment and 61/ 62 kg. So I understand that it might be pretty difficult as I'm not really that overweight at the mo.

It would be really nice if people can tell me some inspiring success stories
Anyone who wants to join me is also welcome.

I'll try to update every few days about exercise done/ what I eat/ weight loss rate etc.

Anyone who wants to is welcome to become my weight loss buddy:biggrin:

Thanks all

yay. I'm in
what a good idea. I'm in. I'm 5'6/5'7, and about 9 stone 7. I used to 8 stone about a year ago. I know I'm not really 'fat' (I'm just tubby), but compared to the 8 stone I used to be, 9 stone 7 seems HUGE for me
*squeals in delight and claps hands* PICK ME!!

I'll join you!
I'll join in... but my aim is to gain a stone or at least half a stone. I would love to be 9 1/2st again and fit into my clothes after losing weight through being ill.

None of you are overweight, you sound just right to me!

ive lost about 1/2 stone the past 3 or 4 weeks but i need to lose more. im 10st 10lbs that might sound bad but i have to have heavy bones or something because i dont look big, jst curvy. anyway past coupla weeks kinda stopped losing weight so i need more motivation! going to florida in two weeks!!

EDIT: ive eaten two breakaways..thats not a good start..they were yummy though..
are you all wanting to lose fat, and become more slim, or is this actually about having the scales read a smaller number? It seems to frequently be the latter, which I can't understand.

The two go hand in hand though, don't they. I often think that I'm looking slimmer but it's like the scales are my proof. I've also worked out what kind of weight I look best at so try to stay at that weight.

I've lost just over half a stone in the last month and feel like I'm looking a hell of a lot better than before. I wouldn't mind losing a couple more pounds but I know I don't need to at this point so I'm not too fussed about it.
squirly

What a load of crap. Muscle is denser than fat, so you can actually get slimmer and heavier, if you're exercising right. Ideally you should not be going below 8 stone really. Losing fat does not equal losing weight.

Yeah I know, obviously, but I don't really exercise that intensely that I would be putting on a great deal of muscle. And I'm nowhere near below 8 stone - I'm 5ft 10 and 9 and a half stone which is about right for me.

What, that if you put on muscle you might see a heavier reading on the scales? I thought that was pretty obvious.

It wasn't obvious that you knew that though, which is what you were saying was obvious.

Ooh yeah, I'd love to start uni a stone lighter!
sigh - wouldnt we all! lol, i suppose exercise is inevitable.
I feel so stupid. I initially interpretted the title as meaning "The misplace a rock challenge", and though to myself, hey, it's not that hard, you just get a rock and throw it into a lake or something.

*hangs head in shame*

EDIT: Incidentally, I don't think either losing or gaining a stone would do me much good. I quite fancy gaining a couple of pounds to bring up to a nice round figure (pun entirely intended) of 10 stone.
It's people in sports like boxing that want to go down a weightclass that have to literally "lose" weight, and of course those who row and sail. Whoever said that it's not really the weight you want to lose, but to get a smaller profile, is correct, unless of course you want to lower your BMI or go down a boxing weightclass.
