stress?

well i dont know where the stress would have come from
It is the summer holidays after all, so doing nothing cant be stressful can it?
Exam results? How old are you?
Could it be malnutrition (if you are a student)?

Every 18 days wow! sorry. Sometimes periods don't come for bizarre reasons as long as you know you're not pregnant then just relax and don't worry about it. If you want to make sure nothing is wrong then no harm in going to the doc and checking it out.

18 days is far too short a cycle. I mean no offence here but how long have you been menstruating? It could just be that your cycle is starting to even out. It took about three or four years for my cycle to become monthly and even. At first too, my periods lasted about nine days whereas now they're alot shorter.

So, it really could just be a development thing. Or a stress thing.
Cycles vary from person to person and I don't think that is particularly short. I wouldn't worry too much.

18 days between, so the cycle is about 24 days.
And, as ive NEVER had sex, pregnant is out isnt it

Well I havent done any major exercise. Probably less in fact!! Maybe its because of a decrease of exercise

yeah I was thinking stress...etc exam results??? like mine is extremely late but I know im stressed out from a death in the family, exam results, peer pressure for being 18 etc....all these are factors of why it can be late :frown: :hugs: but never worry it'll come eventually

Well, I think after all this the threadstarter must be more confused than when she asked the question!

So, I'm pasting this from www.menstruation.com.au/periodpages/irregular.html

Possible causes:

Stress

New cycle , that is the irregularity experienced by some young girls at the onset of the periods. Their cycle can be irregular for months or years whilst it is establishing itself.

Dietary problems , eg anorexia, bulimia or simply poor diet

Too much exercise

Drugs - prescription and recreational

Break in routine

Thoughts and emotions

Sexual activity - especially when it is a new occurrence

Anxiety about pregnancy

Illness or physiological imbalance eg thyroid conditions

One of these might apply to you. (hope it's a small thing that's bothering you)
