starting the pill

hey. I started the pill 2 weeks ago and my period has lasted for the whole 2weeks which is obviously not normal. just wondered if this was a common prob that anyone else had experienced? im assuming that its just my body getting used to the pill but slightly scared that it could be something quite sinister! thanks! :smile:

i've just started the pill (aftre being on the injection) and my first period was horrid- didn't come at all the break, but instead the week after. i'm pretty sure this kind of thing is pretty normal- hopefully the next one will be better! and if not you can always discuss it with your doctor at your 3 month check

hey, yeah think it just takes a while for your body to get used to it!! id honestly try not to worry about it, but if the problems persist then go bk to the doctors.

I wouldnt worry too much, my friend had the implant thing that gets put into the skin of your upper arm because she was sick of taking the pill. She was on her period for six weeks! Now she has to take the pill as well to sort that out :s-smilie:

you may end up with a period until your break week. It just takes time and your body getting used to it, although if it continues throughout your second pack, a visit to the doctors might be in order.

I had a period for a month when I first started the pill. It wasn't entirely like a period after the first week (not much blood) but enough to wear a light sanitary towel every day. After my first break it stopped and my periods have been normal since.
