S1 Maths Quick Q Part ii

Hey guys,
Would really appreciate some help with this question

http://www.mei.org.uk/files/papers/s108ju_rfs6.pdf
In this paper, Q7 iii) B

I found that the median was the 1385.5th number, but I'm not sure what to do with this.
The mark scheme says you have to use linear interpolation.
Not sure how that relates?
Any help would be really appreciated!

You take the 1240 th value to be 30 and the 1810 th value to be 40 and use linear interpolation to estimate where the 1385.5 th value comes.
