Insurance choice and halls!

Hey,

I have portsmouth uni as my insurance choice, however it is looking increasingly likely that i will be coming to portsmouth now instead of my first choice! However, as i only had this uni down as my insurance i wasn't elegible to apply for accomodation so what happens if i do end up coming here? Will they sort me out with accomodation then? I really hope so, i'm worrying a bit!

i think pompey will contact you and let you know your options, alternatively ring the accommodation bit when you know your results and ask them to send you an application form. Alternatively ring them up tomorrow (and i would do it early this week) and ask them what happens, they maybe able to send you out a form now and then that means you will have a better chance of getting into the halls that you want

Do it, ie getting in touch with the uni within the hour that you know that you have got the insurance choice.Once they have confirmed they should notify the accomodation office, it might be worth checking up a couple of days later that they know of you and they have sent the form out. They will have some spaces as people with accom may not have got the grades Ask them to mail you the forms asap, i don;t think you can do it online and then make sure you fill them in straightaway offering them as many options as possible. It is worth sending them back guaranteed next day delivery even though it costs a bit more. You may well be Ok as they were offering halls accomodation to non first years, maybe as a result of the new higher fees kicking in and more people opting to commute from home or trying to find cheaper accom to halls. It is a really good start to Uni life being in halls and makes meeting people easier especially as everyone is in the same boat. Good luck
