I think the best first date is hard to differ, as bad as that sounds!
But I think no matter who you're with, the first date is always the best because it's when there is mystery between the two people, there is wonder and excitement, nerves and more and it all just mixes together.
Going on that, if I had to pick, I think the best first date was this girl I met ages ago. We were friends, but didn't know each other too deeply. We dated and the first time we did, we just spent a whole evening on her bedroom floor talking about each others lives and just learning each other etc. I think they are the best.
We continued to see each other and it lead to a relationship, but ended after a few months.
