but fantasy f1 is like also basically monthly and its going fine imo
It gets updated after every race. They can't force the International F1 Federation to do a weekly race!

Besides, that's fortnightly anyway.

It's fortnightly - is that a compromise?

Weekly is better.
ok the odds are against me  illshut up, but keep in mind thata many people will get identical points if we do weekly: esp if we get 200 people in the league we will probably get about 10 winners...

so what's wrong with everyone sharing the rep, or all getting the same amount? it's not like you lose anything by just participating!

Who would be interested in doing this next season?

It would probably be easiest to have a private league with the BBC (http://bbcfootball.fantasyleague.co.uk/info/friends.asp), you get £50M to spend on a team and we could hav it in a UKL league.

Please indicate if you would be interested in doing this and if you have any other suggestions for how we do it, post them too.
I think you should consider doing it on yahoo instead (http://uk.premiership.fantasysports.yahoo.com/salary). I've been on it for the past 3 seasons and it is very reliable. Also the points system is better than the bbc one in my opinion... you can have 50 people per private group aswell. Might be a good alternative?

Don't you have to change your team every week? I don't think people could be bothered.

You know the 'Opta stats'? well it uses them and gives points out for crosses shots on target, tackles etc. rather than just goals and assists like on bbc.
The bbc scoring system is very basic: http://bbcfootball.fantasyleague.co.uk/info/scoring.asp
whereas the yahoo one takes more stuff into consideration: http://uk.premiership.fantasysports....scoringdetails

You dont HAVE to but it is an option... i think that this makes the game more interesting and tactical cos you can choose players in a rich vein of form and you get to manage the transfers side a lot more!

We're using fantasy F1 as a 'how not to do it' example

Ouch!
Rep is calculated by:

[Number of posts/100] + [Number of gems] + [Number of 3 month periods registered] + [Number of sets of 15 referrals]

My rep: 91 + 9 + 1 + 2 = 103 points

The rep calculation in the FAQ needs updating Ollie.

Yes, as a double-check.

But you can see why it makes sense that referrals increase the rep you give out. i.e.) the more that people are referring to you then this would naturally increase your rep etc.
