Thailand has declared martial laws because of the continuous violence of riots that happened over the past months.

Yeah, I read about this yesterday in The Straits Times. It's a disapointing turn of events because this comes at the heels of months of political unrest nationwide.

Not surprised.
Seems to be a rather unfortunate split between the politics of the country at large and Bangkok's urbanites.

I'm here now. Bangkok is fine during the day, but you have to go home before 10pm and shops close early as well. Its really Bangkok that is having all this negative stuff, anything outside Bangkok is martial law but its perfectly normal day.
