I am doing the AS exam tomorrow on history 'AS sixties revolution' and just wandered, how do I answer a source question? So what is the structure for answering?

Also, any ideas on what topics are popular to come up

I am doing the AS exam tomorrow on history 'AS sixties revolution' and just wandered, how do I answer a source question? So what is the structure for answering?

Also, any ideas on what topics are popular to come up
-read all 3 sources
-analyse provenance
- comparison of views- not a literal comparison of words
- comparison in relation to the given topic- not simply as sources
- similarity as well as difference responding to 'how far'
- own knowledge

If you do all of this effectively you should be on your way to nearly full marks in the source questions.

For the 12 mark source q, don't write out what the source says again, instead find 2/3 points of comparison and illustrate these with reference to the sources. In your conclusion, make it clear exactly 'how far' the views differ.

For the 24 mark source q, try to set out your argument in your introduction and then develop your points in paragraphs with evidence. Provide a judgment at the end too.

Oops, just realised this thread is from 2014. Anyway, will still be useful for those doing this year.
