clearing question

so there seems to be a lot of unis with clearing lists up already. Do you have to wait for your results before you can ring up the uni to try to get a place on a clearing course or is it possible to ring them early on results morning and try to get a place? (im pretty certain i havnt got into my firm) Just wondered if this would be at all possible? sorry if this has already been asked, im just having a panic :frown:

Wait until results, because : [scenario]

You : "Hi there, i was just wondering if you had any places on <course>?"

Uni : "Indeed we do, can you tell us your UCAS number and grades you attained please?"

You : "I don't know my grades... i phoned up because i know that i have failed already, before getting my results"

Uni : *thinks to self - wow this guy really is not very confident at all, and is being very hasty and rash in his decision to phone before getting his results* "I'm sorry it appears i made a mistake, there is no space. Goodbye."

woah just been looking and loads of unis have published their places!! like nottingham, manchester, liverpool etc
