Hi,

Following from today's local election results I decided to launch a new political blog called 'What Youth Think.' It's a politics blog centred around UK politics and written by 'young people', though not necessarily about issues that purely affect young people. The aim of the blog is to be largely balanced in terms of political persuasion rather than taking a stance; be it left or right wing.

This post has two purposes, both of which centre around your political views. Firstly, a more general appeal - in order to keep balanced views on politics I want to get as many people as possible writing on this blog. If you consider yourself 'young' - and it's open to interpretation - and engaged with politics enough to write an interesting article, let me know! You would write an article, send it to me, then I'd publish it to the blog (at a set time so it's not overwhelmed with posts.) If you're interested get in touch with me first - drop me a message - and we can talk it through: of course I'd need to make sure what you wanted to say was engaging and not overtly biased so message me before you write anything so you're not wasting your time.

Secondly, a more general series of questions for a future blog post I hope to make - if it all possible (it'll take a couple of minutes) - it'd be great if you could go through the list of parties below and give one word (or, if you have time, a longer statement) that you associate that party with. If you don't know much about the party then use what you've heard in the press etc. or if you don't know the party at all you can either look them up or leave that one out. If you'd be kind enough to do that please comment it below or send it to me in a message if you'd rather keep your views private - the results will be used anonymously on the blog! Here's the list of parties:

Conservative
Labour
Liberal Democrat
UK Independence Party
Green Party (of England and Wales or Scotland)
An Independence From Europe
NO2EU
National Health Action Party
Scottish National Party
Plaid Cymru
British National Party
Britain First

The first post was made today and the blog can be found at www.whatyouththink.wordpress.com if you wanted to have a look and check if it's the kind of thing you wanted to get involved with. Alternatively, feel free to get involved in the comments and express your opinions!

Thanks very much in advance to anyone who gets involved - like I said feel free to do it by message if you'd rather keep your views private.
