This poll is closed

Which experiment is most likely to come up??

MITOSIS 36%
TENSILE STRENGTH OF PLANT FIBRES 10%
ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES OF PLANTS 5%
TOTIPOTENCY AND PLANT TISSUE CULTURE 10%
MINERAL ION DEFICIENCY38%
Total votes: 39
Hi guys the exam is round the corner.. feel free to ask questions and actively discuss your predictions for the paper...

good luck!

and yeah i have specified this thread for IAL and its not GCE! Theres been too much confusion lol

okay so my best guess is mineral ions.. it hasnt come up in a while.. also it is definitely 100000% not going to be antimicrobial as it came up in jan 14 and in this year's unit 3 paper as well! .. also the one on mitosis is my second best guess .. tensile strength is highly unlikely again for the same reason as antimicrobial.. it has come up too many times..

totipotency however keeps haunting me lol so that also
so in order:
1) Mineral Ions ( 70%)
2) Mitosis (20%)
3) totipotency (10%)

lol this is just my prediction ..don't take it too seriously ..make sure you revise all experiments thoroughly because edexcel is unpredictable
OKAY GUYS vote above.. please don't base your vote on my opinion.. if you see a likely pattern vote according to that and mention it on the thread as well!

any chance of transpiration coming up? it's not mentioned in the specification but its in the book in details.

nope.. its not in the spec.. so no chance..
just revise the actual experiments edexcel has fixed for us ..

not only the experiment. the processes of transpiration, u know root pressure, transpiration pull...

or things like symplast pathway, vascular pathway?

yeah i know..its still not in the spec.. so theres absolute 0 percent chance.. but for extra info you can read it.. its upto you

yeah u shud know what those pathways are.. also the structure of cell membrane..etc
genetic diversity- number of different genes in a species or in a habitat?
It would be helpful if you guys would ask individual questions you feel unsure about,I think it's easier to recall answers during the exam when you've seen them on an Internet forum..
