    that all the best clearing places will be gone first?

    you should never assume- it makes an ass out of u and me

    I guess that depends on how you define the 'best' places. I would imagine (although I am inexperienced) that people will naturally try to gain a place at the universities with stronger reputations but it really depends on what you are looking for personally eg. Somewhere near to home? City or not? Reputation? Surrounding area? Everybodies idea of the best places will be different.

    i was thinking the same thing but then realised not everyone gets their results at the same time, also, surely the university will not just offer the place to the first people as they might not be the best candidate.

    i think it might be a case of applying for that place (unnofcially) then the uni may get back to you later in the day, meanwhile you can enquire about other places at other unis.

    can anyone confirm or correct me on this?
