Confusing Electric Field Physics Question (A2)

So the question is 12 (c):

Mark Scheme:

I could get the first part of the answer, but the second part of the question was confusing as hell. Do the attractive forces flow over the conducting sphere like air flow or something? Please some explain this to me
I think it means about how the electrons will be attracted the positive charge of the other ball so will all be on one side this then messes up the distrobution of charge and will mean that the main part of the possitive charge will be on the side furthest away from the other ball increasing the distance between the effective piont charges

Thats what i would put anyway and fits with the mark sceem  hope that helps
