    Really?! Do you think so? Well my friends and family always laughed at me, but I thought they were laughing AT me not with me. Do you think I could make a career outta it?! Hmm hmmm? We could do a double act the gorgeous sexy sadist and the funny looking masochist, but then I remembered you want to be a dentist and I want to be a journalist so it would have to be both sadists,

    oh by the way I'm ********ting

    Ya know, tonight I'm just not feeling the fun. I just can't seem to get it right.

    Maybe I ate too much salad.

    polar disorder is the same thing as indecisive is it not? polar means either YES or NO i.e. too high or too low i.e. thinks this thing or the complete opposite

    i.e. we had a polarised score, 50 people got u's, 50 people got a's

    A curve has equation y = x^3 + 6x^2 - 36x + 25.
    Find the exact co-ordinates of the stationary points of the curve and determine their nature.

    dy/dx = 3x^2 + 12x - 36

    At the two stationary points, dy/dx = 0, hence:

    0 = 3x^2 + 12x - 36
    0 = (3x - 6)(x + 6)

    x = 2 OR x = -6 at either of the stationary points on the curve.

    For the point where x = 2: y = (2)^3 + 6(2)^2 - 36(2) + 25
    = 8 + 24 - 72 + 25 = -15

    For the point where x = -6: y = (-6)^3 + 6(-6)^2 - 36(-6) + 25
    = -216 + 216 + 216 +25 = 241

    To determine their nature, find the second derivative of the curve's equation and then sub. in the two values of x, in order to determine the nature of these two stationary points which have these x-coordinates:

    d2y/dx^2 = 6x + 12

    Sub in x = 2 into the above: d2y/dx^2 = 6(2) + 12 = 24 ----> +ve value ----> (MINIMUM POINT)
    Sub in x = -6: d2y/dx^2 = 6(-6) + 12 = -36 + 12 = -24 ---> - ve value ----> (MAXIMUM POINT)

    Solutions To Question:

    * There is a stationary point on the curve at (2, -15). This is a minimum turning point.
    * There is a stationary point on the curve at (-6, 241). This is a maximum turning point.
