Nose shape important?

im a girl. i go thru phases where im really bothered about the shape of my nose. i hate seeing photos of my profile an looking at myself on video cam as all i notice is this horrible shape of my nose protruding out and ruining my appearance. it's curvy, with a hook shape on the bridge, so doesn't just go straight down like most peoples.
i wouldn't want surgery as ive seen what they do-it looks awful, plus the after effect of pain. i just dont know what else i could do. im finding it hard to not be bothered an just accept it. i keep feeling its the main factor that will put guys off me. :frown:

guys- would you find this nose shape very unattractive? would it put you off? or is it unimportant compared with other features/personality?
anyone else feel the same?

To be honest if a guy likes you he will not care about what your nose looks like.

I feel similar sometimes about my chin, it sticks out too much for my liking.

As for guys, I think they would find the fact that you aren't happy with your nose more unattractive than your nose itself.

You've said yourself you don't want surgery so just be happy with your nose, learn to live with it and I'm sure it's not that bad anyway!

Can't really tell without a pic, but you can't change what you have make the most of it, Im sure its not as bad as you describe.

If guys care about the girl then no noses don't matter.

Tbh, guys aren't usually interested in a girls nose when they are checking them out, if you catch my drift. As long as its not abnormally large, I doubt it would be a problem. Very few people have a perfectly straight nose.

it's true though if shes got a good personality surely it would not matter to much what her nose looks like.

I'm the same with my chin lol.

Anyway, i'm sure no one else notices it. People always see think their flaws are ten times worse than they actually are because they focus so much on them. I'm the exact same but there's little you can do other than accept it for the way it is. Short of surgery there's nothing that can change it, so learn to love it. I'm sure you have plenty of good features to focus on anyway :smile:

If someone had a 'crap' nose and a 'crap' face, then yes one would consider them unattractive, since the nose plays a very crucial role in determining facial appearance.
However, I suspect that you're massively exagerating your nasal 'problem', and would be unable to tell if you were attractive without doing so in person.
Therefore this thread is pointless. Stop worrying about things you can't do anything about. Dwelling on subjective notions of unattractiveness achieves nothing and makes you feel bad - there'll be plenty of men who find you irresistable :smile:

eventually youll just forget about it. I used to be concious of my nose cos it looks like it has a mini arse stuck onto the end of it (didnt help some bigmouth in secondary school noticed it and for a while took the piss out of it), but this is probably the first time ive thought of it in +/- 5years - mainly due to this thread reminding me of my arse features in the first place - Thanks!!!!

I have a skanky nose, too. Someone broke it with a hockey stick in year 8 and now it has this big bump at the top, and it looks even worse at an angle.

Because you've decided you don't want surgery (woo! Good for you) all you can really do is learn to accept it. You don't even have to look at your own nose anyway, just concentrate on having fun and I'm sure people will look past something like that. Noses aren't that big a deal. If someone is that bothered by your nose then they must be pretty shallow. :smile:

That's rubbish.

Oh come on. The nose is a very noticeable feature of the face, especially when viewed from the side, and it's located slap-bang in the middle. How could it not be important when determining appearance?
