put on weight?

ahhhh sooo frustrating readin all these posts about people wanting to lose weight an magazine articles saying 'lose 2stone blah blah.' I want the complete opposite. I'm 5'6ish an about 7stone (slightly over) and I just can't seem to put weight on. Like theres days I eat tons, bigger dinners/more choc/sweets than my friends yet there bigger than me. I realise I probably have a high metabolism and what not but it can't be that friggin high. I even took weight supplement milkshake things which I bought in the chemist and i got to about 7 an a half stone an it sorta just lay at that and I got bored and poor so quit buying them lol. So basically I'm just asking for advice on how I can put on a decent amount of weight so people stop thinkin I'm anorexic!?

You could take tablets to put weight on. Renee Zellwegger took them to put on weight for the bridget jones films. Not sure what they're called though-sorry!

but its not an attractive skinnyness..its a repulsive one. so the sarcasms not needed lol. personally i think being too skinny is just as bad as being fat.

how old are you and whats your body frame like? you might be right for your body.
as for putting on weight you cant realy just eat more as it could damage your stomache.

try sleeping after eating

I'm 18 an have been like this since I was about 15 even tho I've grown taller but I've always been really skinny :s-smilie:. people have suggested the gym but Im thinkin that that would just build muscle up which I don't really want to be honest.

lol and the keira knightley comment, waaaaay too thin! well she is currently anyway.

Hmm. I'm in the same situation - my BMI is 2 points below "Barely alive", so I really need to just put on a few kilos...

my friend had the same problem, she put on weight by eating lots of nuts! x x

Reply 12

I like nuts actually but don't really fancy becoming allergic lol.

and eh no, absolutely none. I've finished school now too so there'll be no bluffing during P.e no more.

Reply 13

maybe you should start to put on some muscle mass, will make you look less skinny and add weight.

How do you get allergic to nuts eating them?

ahh what it would be to put on weight  i eat loads of everything nd one day (this is a particuarly bad day as far as food goes), having spendt an hour in the gym, another swimming, and probably about 12 hours at work, i worked out that i had eaten - nay absorbed around 7-8000 calories of good and bad food. i also managed to lose 3 pounds in the course of the day  luckily most of it was scavanged from work

This problems sounds similar to mines. I'm currently 7 stones and 5ft'5.

You have to eat things with high calories, like raisens, peanut butter, turkey, pasta, rice, etc. There is a list thing on the internet, where you can look at what calories it is for each foods you eat. You need to consume 2800 to 3200 calories per day. Just, split those calories up into 5 to 6 meals per day every 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

With that food regime, you will have to exercise something like doing weights. This will result in the breakdown of muscle fibers forcing your body to repair itself and add slightly more size (weight) to those muscles.

The weight gain won't happen over night, but there should be weight gain occuring. Once you made these changes, you will have to keep it up.

I have given up on doing this because I couldnt keep up with the lifestyle changes I needed to make to gain weight. So yeah, I could do with a little more weight on me, but I'm happy the way I am.
