Interview At Harrods Tomorrow!! Help!

hey people.
i was called this afternoon and told i have an interview tomorrow at harrods at 2:30pm for part-time sales assistant.
i've already done the assesment day and was one of the eight people out of 30 that were successful. the assessment centre was a month ago and i've forgotten everything i had memorised in case they asked me, now im worried i'll be asked questions about why i want to work at harrods. i have the difficult customer/sticky situation question covered, but not sure what to say if asked something like, describe a situation where you've worked in a team... or if anyone can think of any other sort of questions i might be asked, please help me!!
i really want this job as im broke and my student loan+maintenance grant is £500 less than my accom. for the yr, and il still need more money for food, travel, insurance etc.

Hey.

Good Luck for your interview today. Let us know how you get on. As for the questions, make something up like, Whilst on holiday last year, I noticed a child who had fallen over and quite badly hurt her foot so me and my family teamed together to help this girl. I kept her warm and kept talking to her whilst my mum went to tell the hotel staff and my dad went to get her some food and drink. The outcome was that her parents were notified and the girl got medical attention very quickly.

Or something like that. Lol.

sorry, i wasnt sure where so i just put it in the main area.

so, todays interview was good. the first interview today was with a recruiter who asked me things like how iv dealt with difficult customers but the second interview today was with a line manager for the harrods food halls. (i applied for general staff so they can put me anywhere) he began asking me strange questions line what fois gras is. i said a type of cream, but it turned out to be goose liver! and then he asked me to name three types of caviar; i gave a straight up "no" . lol then he asked me to name three types of cheese (i said stilton, red leicester and cheddar). then he asked me to name three types of meat!!! i said cantelope, duck and beef but i think he was looking for a more complex answer. lol.:p:
anyway he said you've done ok, someone will let you know how you've done in a little while. i added that this is my first interview EVER for a job- i was quite friendly and laughed and smiled the whole way through which he seemed to respond quite well to. then i was told "he said he liked you, you've done well." and was given a form to fill out with my national insurance number. i suppose thats their way of saying "congratulations" lol:rolleyes: .

so then i was sent up with a bunch of people who had applied for waiting staff and one other food hall girl; and we were made to book our medicals. they asked us for STOOL SAMPLES!! they gave us a scoop and everything!

my medical is on monday morning, and after they check that i'm physically fit and dont carry any funny viruses that will affect the food, i guess they'll let me start.

i shall let you know how it goes on monday, following my medical.

I have been to the interview today. It was so scary. There are 3 stages:
1 with human resources,
2 line manager
and final-medical check.
I must advise everybody to prepare some statements about yourself and your job experience. Actually it will be nice to practice with someone at home beforehand. They asked everyone to introduce yourself, your job experience IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. THAT WAS A BIG CHALLENGE.THAN They gave us card with a picture on it and we had to make a presentation and sell the product to the auditory. So you really need to practice in that so you do not make fool of yourself in front of everyone.
So i have passed that test. the second stage was to meet that line manager face to face. He asked about the same things again and why I want to work for Harrods. Our conversation was about 5 minutes. Then they sent me off to wait. After they told me they were not sure in what department of food halls to place me and they will contact me in the next 7 days. So i don't know if i was successful at that stage.
Anyway good luck to everyone and take it really seriously.

Scary! I've got the assessment next Tuesday for work in the food halls. How many people were in your group? I've had next to no work experience before... I'm going to have to seriously exaggerate my 'working a till at Ottakar's bookshop'!

I got the job!!!!   Assuming I pass the medical, I'm going to be working in the wine department, of all places!

oh gosh i had my assessment for a job in the toys department as a part time sales associate, and it was soo nerve wracking, we had to present ourselves in front of everyone and say why we chose to work at harrods and if we could be any famous person who would we be. then we had to sell a product infront of everyone, i had to sell a chest of drawers!! argghh. and then we had to do a group presentation, my group had to say what we thought made excellent customer service and how do you show product passion.
i passed the assesment thank god, and have one last interview with the head of the toys department next week so wish me luck!!!

Ooo good luck. I'd love to work at Harrods! Alas I live no where near the place at the moment.

staff get 33% discount, even in the sales, even if you're only concession staff like me.

I have the assessment on Friday. I have NO customer service experience whatsoever, and I hate presenting infront of a group. Group presentations however, are fine. Having said that I'll screw it up. I'm afraid everyone else would have had loads of experience in working in shops already...
