Why would someone apply to work at Harrods compared to a not so high class store? Unless the pay is much greater.

It just seems like added pressure when it's not needed.

Of course I guess the rep might look good on CV to some but still.

The pay was much better, around £7.77 or something 2 years ago and £8.90 for permanent staff, something like that

The only pressure is the constant 'theatre' like show that you have to put on, the large amount of tourists asking where the toilets are and the very rich throwing their black amex at you..other than that its no different to working else where, but it is the 'greatest department store in the world' so guess helps the CV..

i was called this afternoon and told i have an interview tomorrow at harrods at 2:30pm for part-time sales assistant.
i've already done the assesment day and was one of the eight people out of 30 that were successful. the assessment centre was a month ago and i've forgotten everything i had memorised in case they asked me, now im worried i'll be asked questions about why i want to work at harrods. i have the difficult customer/sticky situation question covered, but not sure what to say if asked something like, describe a situation where you've worked in a team... or if anyone can think of any other sort of questions i might be asked, please help me!!
i really want this job as im broke and my student loan+maintenance grant is £500 less than my accom. for the yr, and il still need more money for food, travel, insurance etc.

I work at Harrods. How can you have an interview tomorrow when the interviewing building across from Harrods is closed on the weekend? Also, Harrods does not ask for a sample for the role of assistant, unless your working in the food and fish department.
