Bloodshot eye

My right eye currently is a bit bloodshot on the left side. What is the most likely cause of this? Can it be treated etc. I'm probably being just really a perfectionist here but it isn't a big red eye. It's the small 'vein-like' structures, 2 of them both running to the center of my eye.

I get enough sleep, healthy diet + exercise. I don't really want to go to the doctor at the moment as it seems a pretty petty reason for a visit.

eye strain from staring at the computer screen, i get it now and again, it disappears over night

Yeah thought it might be eyestrain. Though it doesn't seem to disappear... but then again I'm on the computer everyday basically.

If it's not painful it cud be conjunctivitis(pink eye) which isn't too serious. shud clear up within 3-5 days. If ur really wrried about especially if ur in pain see ur optician!

Just strain on the eye, I'd guess. That kind of thing doesn't take long to clear up, though it's possible if it's considerably bloodshot that it might be more likely to become bloodshot again in future due to weakening.

It's actually been there for a month or so now that I have noticed. Could have been for years though.

I don't think its anything to worry about i get bloodshot eyes from time to time. It could be conjunctivitus. If your are worried see a Doctor/Optition to set your mind at ease.
