I can eat 4 good meals a day but....

.....dont put on a milligram in weight. Im not thin, Id say slim and shapely  and Im a bloke. Is it simply my metabolism working "well" or is it bad? I could seriously eat a cow right now, then if I weighed myself Id be the same weight as before. Is this healthy? Always been like this and havent put weight on for years....

lol. firstly its probably good for you that your metabolism is so quick. also, why do you want to gain fat? if you're really concerned you should work out to get into the shape you want.

I'm the same way. It's great, isn't it? It's also great for making your less metabolically fortunate friends jealous
Unless you can tell us how many calories you're eating, don't try to compare your response to food to that of others. Any subjective estimation of how much one eats, like this thread, is relative to your appetite. Just like fat people saying OMFG I HARDLY EAT ANYTHING AND I NEVER LOSE WEIGHT.

if you're eating a lot but you are not putting on weight your metabolism is not "bad" - i'd bet that it was working very efficiently and burning off what you are eating very well. if you want to gain weight, you need to gain muscle mass too. adding protein can help to build muscle mass too. and...try and eat about 4000 calories a day. it doesn't matter about the amount of meals you eat really, it's what you eat and how many calories are in them.

eat calorie dense food like peanut butter. a teaspoon of crunchy PB is around 80 calories - so have a few PB sandwhichs a day. an average amount someone might spread is probably around 2 tablespoons, so thats around 480 calories plus the two slices of bread that snack is about 680 calories.

add some olive oil to your meals. or other oil like sunflower. like add a few tablespoons of the oil to pasta and again to your tomatoe sauce - only 4 tablespoons are about 496 calories.

other calorie dense food also include cheese and nuts.

i think you should do your reseach on how to gain weight to be honest. there are plently of bodybuilding sites out there with info on how to look bigger and gain weight.

this link is a womens site but gaining mass is gaining mass so it the information will apply to you too regardless of your gender. dont dismiss it out of some ridiculous macho crap because it could have info that is helpful to you.

My dad's dad, dad and brother are all exactly the same, my dad and dad's dad metabolisms caught up with them as they hit their late 20's/early 30's, I'm hoping the same happens to my brother. Now my dad's dad and dad have to work to keep the pounds off.

You're metabolism is settled and the amount you eat is the amount you're body says you need, as you get older it naturally slows down and you will gain weight.

If you want to gain weight now you have to stuff yourself constantly to stretch your stomach and take in more calories....

I hate you. With all my heart.
I have a friend who eats 8 weetabix for breakfast, sometimes more. He's as thin as a rake, and always hungry. You just have a fast metabolism, enjoy it being able to eat pure lard without putting on an ounce, because after about the age of 25-30 your metabolism will slow down and you will put on weight very easily.

It depends a lot on what you eat and if you excercise. I'll assume you don't eat too much candy and junkfood, and that you do a fair bit of excercise ?

Also, a lot of people don't start gaining weight until their 20s. Then they stop growing vertically and start growing horisontally instead.

For those of you who hate me...and for those wondering what I eat, I can tell you Monday to Friday I have breakfast at home (usually toast and cereals or rolls) then another "breakfast" of a big meal at McDonalds or Burger King around 10:30...... Lunch is late - maybe 4p.m and then around 7 or 8 in the evening I eat big again cos Im starving.....Usually meat in every meal.....
