I'm studying TV & Radio and staying at Horlock, I don't know when to move in as my accommodation contract starts on the 8th and I have read welcome week starts 10th but then Salford tell me its the 15th :/

I'm staying in iQ and I move in the 13th, so if you can move in from the 8th then I personally would say move in then so you can make the most of getting to know people, exploring Manchester if your not from there and searching for a job.

I think if you move in any time between the 8th and the 15th is okay, I'm going on the 8th so I am not the last one to move in and have an extra week to get to know everyone, just pick a day that is right for you and your family :!

Hi xtinalouise, I've just noticed you had posted on a different thread with regards to student accommodation but decided to chip in over here. I lived in Castle Irwell during my first year in university and had a really good time. We shared the kitchen and the showers between the 11 of us but hardly anybody was in at the same time so never had any problems. Also, there are about 1500 students living there so there are lots of different nationalities, barbecues on the playing fields and it's only 15 minutes away from campus on foot. Let me know if you have any other questions though. Have you thought about other accommodation sites?

Also do you know anything about the new private accomodation by x1 on chapel st, it looks amazing but does it tend to be more international students etc in there?
