    ive got to my final stage of the gcse art before i do my final piece . i am doing character, and i have chosen to do this picture of my nan because it shows alot of character. i just dont know how i will so this charater in a portrait. what style should i use? what colour scheme ? ect.......
    please may someone help me with ideas :confused:

    as part of your development why not try experimenting with bits of the face in different mediums? do them all on one big sheet or something and comment on what u think works and why- then explain that you'll use whatever medium u have chosen in your final piece because it brings out the character the best etc

    Try doing the face in monochrome, shades of grey. Experiment with picking out where the lights hits best and where the deepest shadows are.
    A study of the shape of her hand could be interesting, too. If you feel like doing something challenging, try drawing the hand as it would be seen from angles.
    If you want to do something colourful with the clothing, collage is always a laugh.
    And never forget the medium of clay!
