Heya, I'm going to put this in the Media & Film forum for you as you should get more responses there.

You should also check out the forum to see if there's any other threads there which might be helpful to you! http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=929

Good luck with your exam.

I have this too. I'm pretty lucky though because I only need a high D in the exam now to get the B overall I need for uni. I'm still hoping for at least a C in the exam though. What films have you chosen for section B?

No way!

I'm guessing you did Kubrick for presentation script? Hahaha

Well for emotional response I'm doing Drive and Toy Story 3,

power, conflict and poverty- La Haine and City of God

critical study- Talk to Her!

Had a nightmare with La Haine and City of God though as teacher didn't do anything all year! That's good then about your grades! You don't have much pressure

Actually, I did Tarantino surprisingly. I hadn't watched any Kubrick at that point and now Clockwork is my favorite film.

Emotion Response for me is : A Clockwork Orange , Stand By Me and Donnie Darko
Power, Poverty & Conflict - The same as you; City of God and La Haine
Critical Study: Morvern Callar

My teacher is pretty great. Really knows his stuff and is responsible for Morvern Callar being a possible film in section C. I do dislike the film a bit though.

No way! I did Almodovar for mine if you know him... He's a pretty top notch Spanish director.

Clockwork orange is good but terrifying- that scene where they cut holes in that woman's jumpsuit! Looool

I don't suppose you have anything on City of God or La Haine that you could send me please?

I've never heard of that film! It's good that you have a good teacher for it though

How did you figure out that you only need a low D for a B? I want to know what I need but don't know how haha :'(

Ok, here is everything I have on my college resource page that could come in handy. Also, do you have any of your own examples to make your exam stronger?

If not here are some good ideas that support the theme.

Slumdog Millionaire
Tsotsi
& Gomorrah

Some of the files were too big. This is everything I could attach.

No problem.

Its the least relevant from the three but it's set in a poverty stricken place. You can also say that the people in the film, who are, I think real people in that area didn't get paid much. The director, and studios reaped the profits.

Oh I see! That makes sense! Thank you again!

Slumdog links very well to City of God then- the favelas and they used actors who were real too!

I'm guessing I'm the only one here doing Iranian Cinema for Section A? For Section C - Pedro Almodovar's Talk To her and for Section B - Spectatorship & Documentary.
