heya.

I'm a private student which means I'm home schooled.
I will be doing the Edexcel Govt and Politics AS and A2 papers.

Can someone please show me where I can find a list of recommended textbooks for AS and A2?

there's just so many books and I would appreciate if someone can point me to the right direction.

thank you.

Hi, my school uses the 'Essentials of UK Politics' textbook for AS and 'global politics' textbook for A2. Both are written by Andrew Heywood. Hope this helps, enjoy the course! I've just finished my AS and found it really interesting.

For AS we used this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/AS-Governmen...9Z878QVQS2C793

A2 it depends which option you've chosen but my school does US politics and we used this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/A2-Governmen...WW0A74K3ZJWNMT

I have not decided what i'll be doing for A2 yet since I'll be doing AS this November.
I understand that AS Unit 1 and 2 is compulsory.
What happens in A2? what would you recommend I study for A2?
As long as I get the mark I'll be really happy.

the books are indeed expensive. as it stands now, the suggestions that have been put forth to me are
Andrew Heywood's
1) Essentials of UK Politics
2) Global Politics

Neil McNaughton's
1) Edexcel Government and Politics for AS 4th Edition
2) My Revision Notes
3) Edexcel AS Government & Politics Student Unit Guide: Unit 1 New Edition People and Politics
4) Edexcel AS Government & Politics Student Unit Guide: Unit 2 New Edition Governing the UK

A2 US Government and Politics 4th Edition by anthony j. bennett &
Politics a study guide by William Storey.

Can someone tell me which ones I should get for AS first and then for A2?

So AS units are compulsory - 1 and 2

A2 you choose 1 of 4 options for unit 3 and 4 - either:
A: Further UK studies & EU politics.
B: political ideologies
C: USA
D: Global politics

The Politics study guide by William Storey is only available in the 2nd edition, as the 3rd edition seems to have run out already, do you think the 2nd edition is still useful and helpful towards attaining a top grade this summer? Thanks
