Easy to switch courses at Newcastle?

I wasn't expecting to meet my offer, but I did... And I don't really want to do the course I applied to. Will they let me switch over easily or no? Anyone ever done this before?

hey, yeah newcastle are generally quite flexible in that way, i had friends who did it last year.

its very easy to switch to a similar course, like economics --> economics+management

if you have the grades, or near enough, it's also possible to switch to something completely unrelated to what you've been given a place for, i know someone who switched from biology to geography/

They give you i think 3 weeks to finalise any decisions, after htat it becomes too late.

switching to very competitive courses such as Medicine is another matter though.

if you still want to change at freshers week, go speak to your personal tutor (you'll be advised who this is and where to find them during induction), and discuss your situation, and also to the head of the subject you wish to study, and they can most likely come to some aggreement, good luck!

Ahh okay thank you - that's reassuring! I'm supposed to be going to do English Literature... but it just doesn't excite me anymore. I want to do Psychology or biology but I got B's in both of those subjects [missed A's in both by 8 marks!]

Hmm. So, do you have to pay any fees if you leave within the first three weeks?

that change might be possible, worth a try at least. I know a lot of people did biology with BCC or lower at A level. Psychology i'm not so sure about, because i think its an AAB course, but still worth a shot!

If you leave before mid october i dont think you'll be charged for fees, but i'm not entirely sure
