Does hugging sometimes make you uncomfortable?Watch
In particular I find it annoying when colleagues decide hugging is a good idea. It's not that I am averse to having friendships at work and I generally get on pretty well with people (despite private reservations a lot of the time). I seem to be hugworthy too as I often attract this kind of behaviour, but it typically happens if I'm leaving a workplace or department for good. I find myself resenting being female because male colleagues go in for a business handshake but females, however senior, insist on hugging me. If I was male it would be handshakes regardless of their gender.
It happens sometimes with acquaintances too i.e. people you barely know, or even just met, insisting on hugging you...
Am I just a cold *****? Does anyone else dislike over-familiar hugging? I don't really pull it off as I just stiffen and awkwardly pat their back until they remove themselves. :/

I've actually never really liked hugging come to think of it. It's quite a strange concept isn't it?
Hugging a guy is easier haha.
It was the end of term and I was with my friends, a girl from our class went to one of the guys she liked as a friend and said his name and put her arms out as if she was about to hug him, he just put his hand out, all of my friends laughed and to this day (if I remember correctly) she's never asked him for a hug again.
Never feel awkward
