OCR HISTORY A2- Did anyone else get a rubbish Coursework mark??

I just got my results back in History and got a B overall- I got 85/90 for one module then 91/120 for the synoptic and for the coursework got 46/90 a D!! This is when the school told me I'd get an A!!! Basically I'm 16 away from an A overall and it has seriously peed me off that becuase of that mark I've gone down a grade!! I'm getting it remarked as the teachers are going to argue it but has this happened to anyone else?? If so what was your coursework on!?

Yeah ring up your school tomorrow and ask- it's so stupid!!! The head of the department tells you they love your work and the examiner gives you almost an E!!!! What the hell?? How long do remarks usually take??

1 thing .... i dont know if my skool will allow remarks. and 2nd are we allowed to remark coursework?

I think so!! My teacher just said to me it was getting remarked so I assume it can happen- at the end of the day it's the same as any other module- still open to error!!

i got told i would be getting 100% for OCR history cwk and i got a C. thankfully i got an A overall tho!! yeh they do do remarking of cwk so dont worry too much
Slightly off-topic but the AS results were messed up at my school - everyone did very badly (at least one C or D) in the two Nazi papers (essay and document), which coming from the school I go to was generally not well received. I got two D's and an A (for my Peel essay).

Nope.

Although, perhaps ironically, I was told that I would.
OCR are really funny about their coursework. Luckily, I got 82.

I was told by two teachers my coursework was an A, who of whom is an OCR examiner, the other who admits he often gets coursework marks wrong (really reassuring!) but I actually got a C. Fortunately I still just got an A overall. But it's annoying when I put so much work into that coursework!

My school does OCR and everyone was getting C's and D's in their coursework...which is stupid because even people who were certain to get an A were pulled down by unfair coursework marks!
I do OCR and I got a C on my coursework when I was told I'd get an A - I'm really annoyed. I got full marks in one of the other modules and the other result is pending. Is there something a bit off with the coursework marking or what?

My teacher warned us that coursework at OCR can be a bit odd. Reading this thread has made me even more relieved that I came out with 80/90. I put so much into my history coursework, I'd have been devastated if it hadn't been recognised.

Courseworks a bugger, isn't it?

yea.. big probs at r skl with ocr hist cw too.. everyone at least 1 or 2 grades lower than expected :frown:
This happens every year with OCR courseowrk, same at my school, A grade kids getting E's for bloody good coursework. I got 82/90, but I know for sure that other people wrote just as good and better than mine. I think OCR have very stringent guidelines, like the synoptic paper ths year, you have mention specific historical incidents for almost all your points in order to get above a low B.

This exact same thing happened to me. Only it was for ICT.

Got a bottom B when predicted an A. Not too bad but still unexpected, and consistent with other people's exam day shockhorror experiences regarding OCR History Coursework

Yea, my whole classes OCR history was mucked up, but especially the coursework. I dont think teachers have a clue about it... mine told me mine was the best in the class and should get me full marks, then I got 70/90, while the highest was 81/90.

Biggest shock though was the best history student in the school, who won UCL's essay competition, got into Oxford et cetera got an E for his coursework and a C overall. Another boy has had to get an emergency remark because he has a place at LSE depending on it.

OCR have p*ssed me of this year... did anyone else suffer from the sneaky 2 questions about Lord Liverpool and nothing on Pitt? That was not fun.

I got a B overall, 474/600, so 6 UMS or 1% off. I know i'm being picky cos I did well in my other exams and got my uni place, but I think I want a remark. The worrying thing is though that if all you guys have done weirdly too, then they won't change individuals' marks. What do you all think?

YES! - I was told by my teacher that mine would definitely be an A (he doesn't give complements easily) - and i got a B for it...a friend of mine spent 6 months on his - it was a bloody work of art - and he also got a B...So annoying...it's what i worked hardest at in all the year...i was really proud of it..

My teacher said that I would get a B, but I ended up with 36/90... which works out at as just an E, I believe a U is 35 and under. Its rediculous. I'm having to resit the coursework now.. I'm 10 marks off a B overall, so if they hadn't of given it such a bad mark, I wouldn't of had to touch history again. I'd also like to add that the marker put his own opinion on my work. I was not happy.
