I have no idea, but i highly doubt that stair 3 is the ground floor, that just would not make sense. I am so happy:smile: that i also found someone else in hermits croft. i was getting so worried cause everyone was talking bout other places. Do u have any idea of what we need to bring?

This thread is bugging me
I want Hermits Croft and I have had no feedback.
My online status thing says I havn't been allocated a room yet
I want my godamn room and I want it now!
I'm so jealous of you all!
monki I'm on stair 5 too, flat 6. I think you are just upstairs from me! I think the way it works is that they have various stairwells dotted around the outside of the building. Inside each stairwell there appears to be 8 flats, 2 on the ground floor, 2 on the first etc. etc. (from what I can decipher on EASA). So people on the same stair should be very close.

I was really cross when I first found out because I had WPC/WPR as my first choice, and I've heard of a number of people who didn't get any of their 3 choices ending up there - and yet I didn't. But the more I read and the more I look at the map I reckon it'll turn out ok. Has anyone actually seen the inside?

I'm sorry! :'''(

I really wanted Darroch. Boo hiss at Edinburgh.
I dunno what was going on there! Don't worry, it's certainly not your fault. Actually I'm feeling very settled with Hermit's Croft now. Location (the reason I put it down) is amazing and I'm sure that will make up for it not being a beautiful old building. We'll be living in edinburgh long enough to experience everything!

Darroch was my second choice! The evilies....
I havent posted on here for ages cos ive been working and in Ireland for a week. Im so glad someone is living vaguely close to me! Does anyone know whether you can see Arthur's seat from here? Also how many people in a flat? When you got offered your accommodation did your link to more information work because mine didnt so can anyone tell me what it said?
mine didn't work either. Arthur's Seat seems to be pretty much behind us on the map - but I suppose it depends where your room is as to whether or not you can see it. There are 5 people to a flat I think.
Cool beans (please can someone hit me everytime i say that cos im starting to wind myself up!). I asked the question about views on the EUSA forum and got this reply...
The block of flats is actually perpendicular to Holyrood Park (of which Arthur's Seat is the highest point) so it is hard to see the sights from most of the flats. Those in flats 7&8 might get a glimpse though. It is very close though, just two minutes over the back on foot. As you walk into HC you get a great view of the Crags - a large rock face.

No lift I'm afraid. There are only 4 floors including ground floor so you'll just be getting fit pretty quickly if you are in flat 7 or 8.

Not sure about the hyperlink. All online info is at www.accom.ed.ac.uk at the moment.

Colours: block 5 is sort of pink/red, block 3 is green and block 1 is blue. The walls are all cream, I'm just talking about doors, carpets, some curtains and cushioned chairs.
