it won't matter one way or another really, if you really a clean list of As decline it, the unis won't really look at it.

    I also got AAAA. Critical Thinking p*ssed me off - I got a B grade (236/300) -- just 4 UMS marks off of an A. I am so getting a re-mark.

I just think CT is a joke subject, even worse than mickey mouse ones. We had a one hour lesson each week for about 2 months and that was it. I didnt bother revising it as all I knew was RAVEN. So I think a C in this 'AS Level' is quite good. We spent other lessons learning A2 Crit Thinking which i find pointless and other lessons in the later part of the year talking about UCAS.

AS-Level Critical Thinking comprises of two papers:

"Assessing and Developing Argument" is marked out of 180
"Credibility of Evidence" is marked out of 120

If you did just one exam you wouldn't have done a full AS!

aahhh, maybe Im doing the other module for AS in my A2 year, so we dont have A2 CT, I understand now Well that would mean I need 140/180 for a B next year, hmm maybe I wont decline half the AS.

I wouldn't advise it. Anything upwards of a C in Critical Thinking is a reasonably good thing to have, but the subject itself isn't thought of very highly. I did the AS last year and thought it was a load of b******* but that could just be me
I'd say a C in an academic subject such a chemistry is worth more than a B in Critical Thinking... Also, unis might look at Critical Thinking as your fourth subject and - knowing it only requires an hour or two a week - think you're a bit lazy.

Why decline either grade?! If it were an E, fine, but a C isn't so bad for an AS level.

I am arguing from a biased position, as I did quite well in CT, and I admit it requires far less work than other subjects, but surely it is a little hypocritical in calling a subject that you could only manage a C in a joke? If you had breezed an A then one could understand that response but a mickey mouse subject normally implies it is easy and clearly you did not find it so...

I am sure you will disagree with me but these are just my thoughts

It is when you are applying to top 10 unis and was predicted straight A's....

I did in january and got a D, then retook it and got an A! Not quite sure how that happened cos i probs did less work the second time, but i think its a lot about exam technique and because i'd done it before i'd learnt from my mistakes (mainly timeing) and fixed it. so woop, even though its a pretty pointless subject.

I got a D in critical thinking. Couldn't care less to be honest. It's the most worthless qualification on this planet (with the exception of general studies). Did gen studies and got A.

To the above poster, I don't think it's worth doing really. To me it's a waste of my free time I could spend studying for another subject or something. Our college makes us do it though.
