Hi, if you're doing a 4th year at uni, and your housemates are graduating, do you think it's better to live in a self contained studio flat on you own or go in university accommodation for non 1st year students (I.e. Only for 2nd/3rd/4th years or postgrads). These are ensuite cluster flats with shared kitchen facilities.

It depends on the kind of person you are, really, and who else you know.
I'd be entirely happy in a self-contained studio, particularly during final year. Other people need more human contact. Depends if you like people.

You could also rent out a room somewhere in a shared house either with other students or privately, This option may also be a cheaper alternative!

Any more opinions on this?
Any more opinions on this?
I'm also going into 4th year after a year abroad and I'm thinking about moving back into halls, although I've also been looking at spare rooms in other student house like someone above says. I'm still a little torn between the two because I did like halls but it was great and I had more freedom living in a flat in the 2nd year.
Personally if it was a choice between a studio flat and halls, I would go for halls as living alone can get pretty lonely at times.

Hey,
Hope you don’t mind jumping in here!
Maybe a Studio in a private halls with social space would work for you, meaning you have your privacy for your 4th year studying but also have the option to socialise in the halls environment!
Most of our buildings have a choice of a more social en suite room in a shared flat or a studio. We host a complete mix of 1st/2nd/3rd etc and postgrads so there is a real mix of students. We also plan social activities throughout the year to help everyone in the building get to know each other!
Many thanks
