Hey, just wanted to know if I would get marked down for not mentioning the sociologists year of the study e.g. Paul Willis (1977).
Also I'm having problems contrasting views for example:
Outline & assess Marxist explanation of role of education in society(50):
Introduction
Paragraph one: Marxism
Paragraph two: Criticism = Functionalism
Paragraph three: Postmodernism / Paul Willis? Or more Marxism?
Paragraph four: Social Democratic?
Paragraph five: New Right? / Liberal?
Where exactly do i put New right as they say marketization & globalization etc which doesn't really link to role of education in society. So how would i structure my essay?

I'm doing crime and deviance instead of education for this exam but no, you don't need to know the year of studies, unless perhaps you're contrasting a difference between statistics but I'm not learning dates at all really.
Also, for your structure, if the question is directly asking about Marxism, I would lay it out something like:
Introduction
Paragraph one: One Marxism point/study
Paragraph two: Criticism of this point from a perspective
Paragraph three: Another Marxism point/study
Paragraph four: Criticism of this point from another perspective
and so on depending on how many paragraphs you want to do
As I said, I'm not doing education but do you really need to put New Right? I mean if they're not relevant then you don't need to use them in every answer
