Ok heres the deal i applied for medicine last year unfortunatly i was turned down from all four of my choices. So i've decided to reapply this year.
I believe i was turned down mostly due to my GCSEs i got 4A* 2A 2B 2D.

I have just completed my A levels and have achieved 4As 2 merits
A in Chemistry, A in Biology, A in Business Studies, A in General studies,
Merit in Biology and Merit in Business Studies.

I have also started work as an auxillary nurse and have been working in a hospice for two years. Can someone give me any advice on which universitys look kindly at reapplicants(i'm not a resit student) with these credentials.

I am trying to find out this myself by looking at web sites and so on but i'd appreciate any extra advice from anyone.
And if i have a good chance in applying?

Thank you

Hope you don't mind me asking, but what is a merit and how did you achieve it?

You must have shagged up any interviews!

Get some enthusiasm for medicine, make sure you've got at least an A at GCSE for English Lt and English Lang & Maths. then an unconditional should be on it's way, aslong as you read your ass off in the news and perspectuses (perspecti???) b4 interviews

Review your PS, make sure it doesn't sound obnoxious, presumptious or bossy or is too wordy. Do not start "My abition to become a doctor";"I have always found the intrinsic workings of the human body fascinating" etc etc cos they'll put your application on the ****** pile.

AAAAHHHH - just thought. Gen. studies never counts and Business studies isn't "academically rigerous". Try maths, physics, human biology(piss easy) - look in the perspectuses for A levels that are accepted.

How'd you manage to not get in anyway? did you get any feedback?

Advanced Extention Award. Real A-levels. Suppose that's why I got a merit and a U.

You've not missed anything by not doing any. Well done for getting medicine 2007!!! where r u going?

Business Studies is academically rigourous as it is more then 60% theoretical content.
I no general studies doesn't count that was just what the school made us do.
