I have cycles of 40 days sometimes over and periods lasting 7-9 days with lots of brown blood afterwards. Should I go to the doctor? Will I get put on the pill to make them more regular and shorter? Any experience with this? Thanks

The length of the cycle doesn't bother me other than it ranging from 35-45 days which is annoying, it's more that my period lasts forever and I want it to be shorter

If whoever you go to is competent, there will be an exam, but it will be for things like blood pressure etc rather than an internal one.

So the doctor doesn't need to look at my vagina area or anything?

No. When I went to go on it I was weighed, had my blood pressure taken and asked about mine/my family's medical history.

There was no examination at all, they asked about length, heaviness and pain mostly, it was very quick and east
