Odd, must have been a problem with the web server. The server was pinging fine, but no/slow web access.
You were pinging it? I can ping things too and port scan them!

*is proud even though she's never actually pinged or scanned anyone*

Well I pinged it twice, so it wasn't me causing it! I had a feeling it was a DDoS attack on UKL but the ping response was fast with no dropped packets so that pretty much ruled that out.
    A likely story

My connection isn't fast enough to DoS a ZX81 on a 9600 baud twisted pair connection.

I wish I understood what that meant.

I just posted about this in the about section, it seems the site goes down everyday for about 10- 20 mins for the last 4 days anyway.

I wish I understood what that meant.
ZX81 is an old 8-BIT home computer that plugged into your TV, it cam ewith about 8K RAM! 9800K buad is basicay a 9.8kbps modem compare that to modern ADSL 512Kbps! Twisted pair is just the type of cable, it has wires indisde the main sleeving are twisted to cut down radio interfience.

P.S Me! you still know a hell of a lot about computers for a 16 year old girl!

edit. A DoS attack is a denial of service attack where you write a bot that makes a request to server stupid amount of times per second in the hope to bring a server down.
