Science> everything else

And of course some degrees are better than others, don't be so naive Riku.
Or, science is the single most important thing in our lives, in the history of existence, life, the universe and everything. Science is the new religion (well yes that's an old one). Everything else is just a prissy distraction. Therefore arts, humanities, social science, basically any other discipline of any form (let's include politicians, bankers, the police etc. to the list)-are inferior. Science rules the world and we should bow before The Pencil One and the STEM Master Race.

Yay or nay?

Maths > Science

Therefore, by the transitive relation, Maths>All

Come at me

Nay. I mean, you can listen to these 18 year-olds bang on about how much they bum science until the cows come home. It still won't be true.

Yes, science provides more economic benefit for the individual and society. But as many celebrated economists will tell you, a world in which economic gain is the primary motive is not the world we want to live in.

Yours sincerely, someone who just came home from 6 hours of science exams.

Seriously though, I like STEM as well but I have to admit that our lives would be a dull, boring mess without any culture and arts

Is science completely distinct from modern finance?

I don't believe it is.

When people ask me of my religious beliefs, I tell them science is my religion. That being said, a world of science and absolutely no culture, arts or humanities would not be one worth living in. I suppose a balance is key. As ever.

"Science>Everything"
Perhaps because whoever says that their only real talent is science. Likewise if they were a literature genius I'm pretty sure they'd say books>everything.

Well music, but that doesn't make science better. My judgement of quality is not based on which I'd rather be without. We live in a world where both exist, and we should judge them in that world. And they simply cannot be compared. You can't say that music is better than science or vice versa, because you can't measure them on the same scale. They contribute different things to society. That is why you can't say science is the best - it isn't measured on the same scale.

Oh my god it's like asking whether I'd prefer to kill my brother or sister. They both matter a lot to me, I need them both, but I don't think that one is better than the other.
