Retaking year 12 + Gap year

I'm retaking year 12 (with extenuating circumstances) and I was wondering if it would look bad on my university application if I also took a gap year?
no u wont... as long as u have gud grades and a gud reasn for gap year..uni ll b fine wid your profile

I want to study mathematics/engineering mathematics and I don't think I got all As this year for AS and I'm really worried it will look bad on my application if I apply this year. I want to apply to unis such as Exeter, Bristol, Nottingham, Bath, Warwick, so mainly russell groups

I feel terrible because I've already wasted a year and if I take a gap year then I'll be applying for undergrad at 20 and that's embarrassing.....
