I just noticed that US News released its 2007 rankings for colleges today. Interestingly enough, Princeton holds the first rank, not the usual Harvard. The rankings are at: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/col...udoc_brief.php

    Happy for the Princeton folks.

What in the world is Vanderbilt University(TN)? I've never heard of it.

Don't worry, all I know is it was named after the railroad tycoon.

In fact, after number 10, they become sort of obscure, even to a ratings obsessive American such as myself...I've never heard of a few of them.

They seem to be very private uni biased this year, even more than usual. USC(private) is one rung below UCLA(public)...thats unusual, last year it was a marked difference....

Vanderbilt is really good, especially if you are staying in the South, it's 2nd in terms of repuation after Duke.

Vanderbilt is the Harvard of the south or so they say. They're not as good at sports though.

Brown is also the most annoying Ivy which offers the longest application forms. It takes ages to fill it up.
