first semester philosophy is based around descartes' meditations. there's also a critical thinking component, gary kemp's 'critical thinking: a concise guide' is recommended for that. both should be available on amazon marketplace. the second semester is usually applied and normative ethics and some political philosophy. plato's republic is usually read, although that may have changed. there are any number of good introductory texts for the moral component. my favourites being julia driver's 'ethics: the fundamentals' and harry gensler's 'ethics: a contemporary introduction'.

The book we used this year for psychology was Psychology: The Science of Mind and Behaviour by Holt., et al. I assume that it will probably be the same this year as lectures tend to follow the book. Level 1 psychology covers perception, memory, thinking, language, Biology & Social Cognition, Individual Differences and Abnormal Psychology.
