That's a rubbish reason. In that case, he is essentially the 'mega-superstar' in a superstar team.

Superstar as in marketing potential.

And btw

HeskeyLAD? Jesus christ. Bet ur well in 2 fifa and a cheeky nandos arent ya

I made this account two years ago, during the prime stages of puberty and what not.

Basically, I didn't know what I was doing xD

My name goes very well with your name.

EDIT: Tried to give you a rep but clearly that's failed -.-

EDIT 2: Yes, done it :3

TL: DR on this subject

Rational observer: ''Ronaldo scores a goal a game for RM''
Messi fanboy: Yeah but he plays with great team-mates. As if Messi hasnt played with the best club side ever for most of his Barca career

R.O: ''He also tore up the PL for Utd''
M.FB: Guffaws and makes some comment about ''rainy night in Stoke'', as if it isnt a huge point in Ronaldo's favour.

R.O: Ronaldo is cabable of a huge variety of goals and can play many systems
M.FB: ''but Messi iz a better dribbler and that's the most important thing innit''

R.O: ''Ronaldo was better this year and deserved the Ballon D'Or''
M.FB: ''ONLY BECAUSE MESSI WAS INJURED'' As if the award is Messi's inherently every year

People hate on Ronaldo because they dislike him, simple as that. People also like to see Messi as some kind of humble saint, as opposed to the multi-millionaire egotisitical guy, surrounded by marketing specialists that he is. Baffling.

Ronaldo is better now than he was then, why could he not do that? Suarez got 31 without playing european football, and missing games at the start of the season. You and others here don't know much about football. Messi and Ronaldo are the best players in the world right now, Ronaldo is on top this year though.

only because he's playing in a league with a load of ****ty teams. I never mentioned Suarez, but then it's good you can tolerate others who don't think as you do lol...

Agree with absolutely everything in this post. Messi is always shown in a saint like image whereas people constantly bash Ronaldo, I mean even that **** Blatter had a jibe at Ronaldo. Messi is slightly better than Ronaldo imo but instead of arguing over them two we should just be happy that we get to see 2 outstanding footballer who have set the bar so high and are by far 2 of the best footballers at present and have been for the past 6 years.

Spanish teams won both the Champions league and UEFA cup this year. I think that this opinion that spanish football is a poor quality bar the top teams is untrue, if you followed La Liga you'd notice how many times the top teams dropped points to teams from all over the table. And if you want to be stubborn and still believe the La Liga is full of **** teams, then tell me other players who can go there and do what Ronaldo and Messi have done please?

Gerrard is the best player in the world

That makes no sense. How is he better than Messi? Worse ball control. Less goals. Less trophies.

Ah, the World Cup always brings out the people who know nothing about football, but become experts for a month.

if i was, prove it...

if i was, i don't care....

if i was, you're just a stranger online....i don't care about your football opinions..
He isn't overrated, he's the best footballer on earth at the moment. Just the reality is, Germany have better players in the other 10 positions unfortunately. You can choose your club but you can't choose your national team. Ronaldo on his own can't beat teams. We saw how good he was in La Liga and the Champions League. Germany will probably make it to at least the semis, maybe even the final.

Ronaldo is taller, stronger, faster and better with his weak foot, better at heading, then messi

Individually Ronaldo is far superior than messi and is easily the best modern time player

But Messi is probs better for the team tbh

You're missing the point.

If you've been watching La Liga, you would notice that there is a huge difference between the top team compared to the 4th team (in terms of domestic performance).

Let's look at this year: the top team, Atletico Madrid, secured 90 points, where as fourth place Athletic Bilbao secured 70 points. That's a difference of 20 points.

The top team of the EPL, Manchester City, secured 86 points, where as fourth place Arsenal got 76 points. That's a difference of 10 points.

Even the year before that: in the 2012-13 season top team Barcelona secured 100 points, where as fourth place Real Sociedad secured 66 points. That's a difference of 34 points.

The top team of the 2012-13 season in the EPL, Manchester United secured 89 points, where as fourth place Arsenal secured 73 points. That's a difference of 16 points.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are both absolutely brilliant, there is absolutely no way I can deny that at all. But La Liga does not have the same domestic rigour as the EPL, hence the person's feelings towards La Liga.

I honestly think this is something we as English keep telling ourselves to try and make us feel better. The fact is right now the top teams in La Liga are superior to those in the PL so obviously the winning margin will be greater over the rest of the league.. Teams like Sevilla and Villarreal would give teams like Everton a serious run for their money. It's easy to look at their lower teams and take them as being **** and conclude the EPL is better but I highly doubt the Spanish hold teams like Hull and West Ham in particularly high regards either.

He isn't better than Messi and he'll never have a chance to win the WC. But still, Ronaldo is a legend and ever since moving to RM from United, he's grown spectacularly and the amount of goals he has scored is amazing. Him and Messi are by far ahead of every footballer at present. If you call Ronaldo overrated then everyone bar Messi is overrated.

Tbf, upgrading a midfield of Hargreaves, Scholes and Giggs to Alonso, Modric, Ozil, Di Maria, Bale and having the likes of Benzema feed you will get you much more goals.

Inb4 Messi has Xavi and Iniesta.

What do you think about Rooney's performance vs Italy.

Or are you just going to talk about the cross that pretty much all the attacking players we had could have made?

Remember you chatting **** that I don't know anything about Rooney...
