Homer The Iliad
Homer The Odyssey
Virgil's Aeneid
Macbeth
The first 50 Shades of Grey, the rest were rubbish

Of Mice and Men I found the betrayal of the characters fascinating, the use of foreshadowing and metaphors were brilliant.

Non fiction; "Power, sex, suicide. Mitochondria and the meaning of life" was amazing, really fascinating if you like biochemistry at all.
Fiction; "The Siege" by Helen Dunmore, a fictionalised account of surviving the siege of Leningrad - very interesting...but it did make me cry
