u lucky devils with your on-suite!
im actually in hulme hall, not burkhardt house, but we do share the same JCR i think? i was starting to wonder if everyone on this board was going to whitworth park. i hear burkhardt usually has a lot of medics.

hope to see u there!

hey ant87, we do share the same JCR

"Burkhardt House is part of Hulme Hall and was completed in 1994. Students belong to the same JCR and use the same social and sporting facilities at Hulme Hall."

I'm a Burkhardt medic too! Do you know what the numbers mean- i assume its our flat/room numbers, mine says BURK2 02.21...not entirely sure how to translate that but im sure i'll find it!
Reply 6
The 02.21 is your room number.
the Burk2 is probably building number, they have 2 there i think.
mine said Burk - Burk1..

hey ant87, seems like you're right about medics at burkhardt
hey...i'm going to study medicine, and just found out that i'll be staying at burkhardt.

pippin, mine is BURK2, 02.31. i have no idea what that means either, but i suppose it's our room numbers.

i was also wondering if any one else's period of residence was from 14th september 2006 to 24th march 2007 on their contract. isn't it a bit strange that the contract doesn't include our accommodation for the rest of the semester after the easter hols?

i know that we're supposed to pack up and move out during the easter hols if we're in burkhardt, so does this mean that we'll be signing another contract after that?

hey exquisitextreme
BURK2, 02.31 means you're be in building 2 of burkhardt, 02.31 is your room number.

on my offer it said

from 14th September to 24 March and from 15 April to 21 June 07

you should check yours again to see if it says from 15 April to 21 June 07 as well.

they do kick us out during the Easter break, I contacted them they said we can put our stuff in their storage for free during that time but it has to be limited since alot of people will be storing their stuff there as well.

I've also been offered a place at hulme hall (greenwood D block) but i was wondering if anyone could explain the residence fees. In the brochure it says 38 weeks £3771 but on my invoice it says £4197. My term of residence is 14th september to 21 june 2007 which seems a bit strange too?! I'll probably just phone up on monday

in the brochure, it listed £3771, that is the price for the 05/06 annual rent.
for this year the price went up slightly.

Hey everyone, i've been allocated a place in plymouth e block - sounds like something out of a prison drama lol - at hulme hall, and i'm studying english law and french law. The facilities look great - especially for sport - with tennis courts, a 5-a-side pitch and a gym! Hope to meet you all during freshers'!

Wicked! Based on what a former resident told me about what the numbers mean i think were in the same block (middle block) n then 31 n 21 are our room numbers?? but it seems fairly confusing so i wouldnt be surprised if thats wrong!

On my form my period of residence says from 14th sept to 24th march and from 15th april to 21st june so i dunno why mines included n yours isnt :s-smilie:

Why is it the worst block? Aren't all the blocks pretty similar? Way to go for dampening my elation at getting Hulme

yeah, it looks like we'll be on the same floor - the second. we're probably neighbours!

i called up the accommodation office and it seems that the whole date thing was just an error, no worries. i've gotten my new contract, so it's just a matter of signing it now.
