Pharmacy as a Career in UK

hi forum

i am writing from canada; i wanted to study pharmacy in canada but its very competitive to get admission into pharmacy in canada as its a sought after career and there are very few universities who offer the course.

i recently applied to a university in uk for mpharma and got accepted. my question is whether pharmacy is a respected profession in uk as its in canada? in canada, pharmacist goes beyond the technical aspect and handles lots of clinical issues;even doctors and other healthcare professionals respect pharmacist a lot and seek their advice on relevant matters. in canada, a pharmacist is "the" authority when someone needs an advice in relation to drugs/medicines and not the doctors as in many other countries, where pharmacist is just a technician who will count medicines and dispense the same.

please advice whether it will be a good move to migrate to uk as a student to study pharmacy and then practice the same in uk, as i wish to reside in uk only after completing my studies.

thanks in advance
