childcare!
Hi, im going to uni in January to do nursing. I'll be getting a NHS bursary but when I do a calculation it says I'm not entitled to parental or dependant allowance even though I have 2 children. My partner only earns £17000 a year and these are the figures I put in so I don't think I will get my childcare paid if i'm not entitled to parental allowance. If NHS bursary wont pay childcare can I claim it from Student Finance instead?
I was in a similar position as you. Not until you make your application will you know for sure. The calculator told me I wouldn't get PLA or dependents allowance with my husband on a similar salary and 3 kids. I just got my award notice and I got all the allowances plus 85% of my childcare costs covered.
Also if they don't give you childcare allowance you can't get it from student finance. I asked that question too when I phoned NHS bursaries.
