Hi, I'm a year 12 student looking at my course options and I just wondered if anyone knows if a course like 'Business management (marketing)' would involve a lot of what you learn in business studies in gcse and in a levels and if so would I be better to just do a marketing course instead of go through the same stuff I've been learning for four years now. Many thanks

I did business management at university as I didn't have enough credits to go onto a marketing based course. Throughout my first two years I learnt about finance, economics, hr etc but as I enjoyed marketing the most I decided to specialise in marketing. I think business management is like a level and GCSE but I found it better as you applied what you learnt to the current time in assignments etc. If you want to focus on marketing I'd suggest just doing a straight marketing course but a business management course specialising in marketing has widened my horizons more rather than just marketing in regards to job applications
