Please could a knowledgeable computer person help me?
I think my brother opened a dodgy e-mail and our computer appears to be hijacked!
The problem is that our homepage keeps being reset to 123-found.com and porn programmes such as XXXKisses are being installed onto our computer.
I am pretty clueless about computers so really need help! I downloaded SpyBot, but it has not detected the problem. I delete the programs and change the homepage, but they keep being changed back.
I'd be so grateful for any help!

Download Ad-aware (http://www.download.com, search for Ad-aware). It's free, it works quite well.

i wouldn't advise you to go and mess about with the registry unless you know what you are doing.

you best bet is to dwnld ad aware, and other programs, i think one of them is hijack this.

Something similar happened to me a couple of weeks ago. For about a week my computer was chnageing my home page and adding pornographic links to my favorites. About a week after this started Norton Anti Virus deleted a trojan.downloader and the problem quit. I bet that that is the same thing you have.

I have downloaded ad aware, which detected quite a few files. I hope this works! I am now going to try Norton.
    Thanks again!

It's scanning at the mo and has already detected 4 infected files, none of which I was warned about! I have a feeling that you're right.

Were your virus definitions up to date? I run two antiviruses just incase one doesn't work. AVG is a good free one.

the joys of spy/adware, you are a cursed individual. Well, not really, just get yourself a good anti-ad/spyware app
