Columbia vs Uruguay

Saturday 29th June

Netherlands vs Mexico

Costa Rica vs Greece

Monday 30th June

France vs Nigeria

Germany vs Algeria

Tuesday 1st July

Argentina vs Switzerland

Belgium vs USA

We are into the Last 16. Spain, Italy and England are home. Not to mention Suarez and Ronaldo.

Pick your winner for each match!

I'm hoping Chile will give us a shock at knock out Brazil. I also think Mexico will give Holland a bit of a challenge but Robben/RVP are too on form to not get a few goals. Belgium haven't been playing as well as their team sheet would make you expect, could the Yanks pull a Last 16 shock result?

Brazil v Chile
Chile never beat Brazil, and FIFA will not allow that to change. Expect a dodgy refereeing performance.

Colombia v Uruguay
Colombia have been really impressive.

Netherlands v Mexico
Netherlands have an impressive attacking side, Mehico do not. Vice versa for defences. This'll go to extra time.

Costa Rica v Greece
A dire 0-0 that will go to penalties

France v Nigeria
Comfortable French win. Nigeria are poor.

Germany v Algeria
Algeria to park the bus and give Germany a game.

Argentina v Switzerland
Messi should carry them through this.

Belgium v USA
I don't rate Belgium at all. Too many ''big names'' but no idea how to set them up, a bit like England.

Feel free to laugh at me in a week when none of the above happens.

I guess Algeria and the USA going through would be my surprise picks in there.

Greece have been quite lacklustre so far, whilst Costa Rica topped the "group of death" with some passionate and impressive performances.

I guess on both a logical and emotional level, people are more inclined to vote for Costa Rica.

I meant why do they have no votes when 2 people said they voted for them

I don't know why some are thinking Algeria will "park the bus" - they did that against Belgium and it didn't work. Attacking is Algeria's best form of defence, I reckon they'll really give it to the Germans. Although the USA lost to them, they gave the Germans a game, Ghana did it to. I don't see why Algeria can't.

Brazil vs Chile
Brazil haven't really been convincing. Disappointing to be honest.

Colombia vs Uruguay
Without Suarez, Uruguay are not going to make it. Plus, Colombia have been amazing. :yep:

Netherlands vs Mexico
Don't think Mexico can pull this off against Robben/RVP...

Costa Rica vs Greece
Should be obvious...

France vs Nigeria
France are the better team.

Germany vs Algeria
Germany are the better team.

Argentina vs Switzerland
Argentina haven't really been convincing (apart from Messi perhaps) so I hope Switzerland pull off a shocker.

Belgium vs USA
I supported Belgium before the tournament, and they'll probably win this, but tbh would prefer a team with spirit to go through...

If Algeria by some miracle go through. Expect mayhem from Paris to Algiers. Germany better do the world a favour.

The ones I'm certain on going through are Colombia, Holland, Costa Rica, Germany, Argentina and USA.

Not really bothered what happens as long as those Greeks and don't go through. Can't believe those Ivorians choked again and are putting us through this.

Swiss team with Senderos and Djorou as their CB pairing have hope against Argentina. Argentina as rubbish as they've been have probably been the 'best' team outside of Chile, Costa Rica, Germany and Holland.

Given that Costa Rica beat both Italy and Uruguay, I'm unsure why you think they would struggle against Greece. The way you write suggests CR have behaved like no-hopers.

Belgium, likewise, have played well. Granted, it's been an easy group, but I think it'll be a good match.

They reached the knock outs for the first time so they celebrated. Whats your point?

Think about how Greece will set up, they will park 10 men behind the ball and try to nick a goal from a set piece. Totally different from what Costa Rica encountered in the group stages. They have played well, but do they have the quality to break down a side like that? I'm not sure they do.

GREECE was stunning against Ivory Coast.

The way Costa Rica plays is very similar to the way that GREECE plays.

I believe that Italy and Uruguay underestimated Costa Rica.

GREECE wont do this mistake.

Campell is the best Player of Costa Rica , but the Greek defenders know him very well , especially Manolas, because both play in GREECE for Olympiacos.
