Movie Madness is an event pitting 64 films against each other in a tournament where only one will triumph (to find out more, click here).
Who will progress to the next round? You decide.

Casablanca (1942)
Widely considered to be the best romantic film of all time, Casablanca tells the story of one man’s struggle to choose between love and virtue against a backdrop of wartorn Morocco. With Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in the starring roles, the film won three Academy Awards and forms an iconic part of the Hollywood repertoire.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
"Blessed are the forgetful, for they get the better even of their blunders". When Joel finds out his ex-girlfriend no longer remembers him, he investigates and discovers that there is a company who can erase memories. Yet as the memories starts to fade, he sees the good alongside the bad and wants to hold on. But can he save his memories of Clementine, or will she be lost forever? Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet star in this poignant drama which leaves the viewer pondering for days.

Eternal is defs one of my fav films, it's so great and I can watch it time and time again. I feel like it tackles interesting questions about the human psyche and just really makes you think deeply about things!

Casablanca without a doubt as I always had a sweet spot for it. Something about the chemistry of the cast which somehow seem very well meshed for their roles.

Fair comment. A clever modern tale v an all time classic, I'm pleased the older movie is at least putting up a bit of a fight.

Casablanca is considered a classic and has a higher rating on imdb. Eternal will win because it's recent and more people on here have seen it.

True, but you don;t think a film being regarded as an all-time classic has an advantage? Wouldn't be surprised if some of the people voting for it haven;t seen either so just go with the household name. I've seen both and Casablanca isn't as good for me.

Yeah, some people will do that, but I'd imagine not as many as those that have seen Eternal and not Casablanca so just vote for the one they've seen.

I forgot to take into account everyone going for the more recent film.

Predicted for and voted for Casablanca and it's being narrowly beaten atm.

Casablanca - possibly the best accidentally great film ever.

Eternal - it's fine, but who's going to remember it in fifty years?

Not a big fan of Eternal sunshine, think it's overrated in its time

Also think Casablanca is overrated, but at the end of the day has more substance. Just personal opinion though
