    has anyone done a yin and done medicine after?? i really want to do this but not sure which companies to choose. was thinking of astrazeneca or lab technician based stuff? what dyou think?

    There's no point, it'll be a waste of time. If you want to do medicine, skip the year in industry on your first degree and spend your spare time volunteering, work experience, etc. and then apply straight to medicine. The year out will effectively be a waste of time because you won't really use those skills for medicine, and the time would be better spent differently - e.g. later in your career taking a year out to do a relevant masters.

    You could argue that a year in industry could teach you a lot about teamwork, prioritising, etc whilst also helping save a pile of money for medical school later on, but you would still need to nail the voluntary stuff, work experience, etc...
