I had applied for a masters course in Physics at Nottingham last year (I withdrew after receiving an offer). I received an email advertising a PhD vacancy from the woman that ran it. I have been invited there as they want to show the labs and have a chat with me. It is not a formal interview.
I don't how to prepare myself or whether I should as nothing (suchas research proposals) has been discussed prior. The weird thing is she only responds to some of my questions. As I live quite far away, I don't know whether it'll be worth it as she is reluctant to answer my questions. I don't want to have to go back again for an interview to secure the offer.

If you go back for an interview, you'll most likely be able to get reimbursed for travel expenses. Just FYI.
